Blackjack also referred to as 21 is one of the most favoured games competed in on betting house tables. The game uses one, two, 4, six, and 8 decks of cards. A dealer holds and deals the cards of the single and two deck games, more than two deck games are generally dealt out of a tray like box, which is called "shoe."

The game is based on simple arithmetic calculations. If the sum of the competitor’s cards is greater than the croupier’s cards without going over twenty one the player wins. On the other hand if a competitor’s hand goes over 21 that is called a "bust" and the player automatically lose.

In hand-held games, the cards are left face down. The players are able to touch the cards, while in the ’shoe games’, gamblers aren’t permitted to hold the cards that are face up on the table.

Black jack is a game based on dependent outcomes, wherein bigger cards remaining in the deck favor the gamer and the lower denominations give the advantage to the croupier. The excitement of the game is in the shifting of advantages back and forth from players to croupiers.

Since the player has the advantage to take action first, he has the advantage to hold a hand that has the possibility of going over twenty-one. However if the player and the croupier both bust, the player loses. Thus gamblers are encouraged to learn to play their hands properly and guarantee the best outcome, which is founded on the mathematical strategy.

The card game of blackjack is very simple to understand and even involves the application of a basic strategy chart at the table for reference, and therefore with a bit of effort the competitors can make correct decisions.
