The main concept of the game is to be dealt cards adding up to 21. Each chemin de fer player is assigned 2 cards. When a black jack player is handed a nine or lower value card and an Ace they have been given a soft hand. When the black jack player is dealt no Ace cards it is called as a hard hand. Once the cards have been dealt all players at the blackjack table, which includes the dealer, each blackjack player is given the chance to make one of 6 actions:
Taking another card (Hit): When a player announces "hit me" the dealer will deal him another card, if the adding of that card makes the total greater than twenty one the player will have lost and that’s the end of the game, if the card makes the total to twenty one the player wins and if the value of the hand hasn’t yet reached 21 they’re still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a player is satisfied with the hand they’ll stay. As soon as this has happened the dealer will show his/her hand and the black jack player who has accumulated 21 or the nearest to 21 will come away with a win.
Doubling Down: A gambler may request to double down which doubles the wager they have placed. As soon as you have taken this action you can only receive 1 more card. The details of doubling down are often out lined by the blackjack table or casino rules so before playing be sure you’re at ease with the house established rules. If you are competing at an internet betting house this is usually quite easy.
Stay tuned for part two.
