I have bet on millions of rounds of chemin de fer. I started sneaking into the gambling halls when I was still underage. I have played online blackjack, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a short while. With all that said I have still lost all kinds of money at 21. The gambling dens have made it very hard to defeat the house.
I still like the game and gamble on a regular basis. Over the years I have enjoyed a type of 21 called "The Take it Leave it Method". You most certainly will not get flush with this tactic or beat the casino, still you will experience an abundance of fun. This tactic is built on the idea that 21 appears to be a game of streaks. When you are hot your hot, and when you are not you’re NOT!
I wager with basic strategy blackjack. When I do not win I bet the lowest amount allowed on the next hand. If I lose again I bet the table minimum on the subsequent hand again etc. Once I profit I take the payout paid to me and I bet the initial wager again. If I win this hand I then leave the winnings paid to me and now have double my original wager on the table. If I win again I take the winnings paid to me, and if I win the next hand I leave it for a total of 4 times my original bet. I keep betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I do not win I return the bet back down to the original sum.
I am very disciplined and do not "chicken out". It gets extremely fun on occasion. If you succeed at a few hands in sequence your wagers go up very quickly. Before you know it you are betting $100-200per hand. I have had great streaks a few times now. I departed a $5 table at the Wynn a number of years ago with $750 after 60 minutes using this tactic! And a number of months ago in Macau I left a table with $1200!
You have to comprehend that you can relinquish a lot faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more enjoyable. And you will be aghast at the runs you notice playing this way. Here is a guide of what you would bet if you continue winning at a $5 table.

Take 5 dollar paid to you, leave the first five dollar wager

Leave $5 paid-out to you for a total wager of 10 dollar

Leave $10 paid to you for a total bet of 20 dollar
Bet 20 dollar
Take twenty dollar paid-out to you, leave the original twenty dollar wager
Bet twenty dollar
Leave $20 paid-out to you for a total bet of $40
Bet 40 dollar
Take 40 dollar paid to you, leave the first $40 wager
Wager $40
Leave forty dollar paid to you for a total wager of eighty dollar
Wager eighty dollar
Take $80 paid to you, leave the initial $80 wager
Wager 80 dollar
Leave eighty dollar paid-out to you for a total wager of $160
Bet $160
Take one hundred and sixty dollar paid-out to you, leave the original $160 bet
If you departed at this moment you would be up $315 !!
It is herculean to go on a run this long, but it often happen. And when it does you must NOT alter and drop your wager or the final result won’t be the same.
